For your Grammy® consideration
Aubrey Logan & Her Bigger Than Average Band
Jazz Vocal Album
Jazz Performance “Airport Codes”
Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals “Airport Codes”
“Logan has an infectiously pleasing voice with an instrumentalist’s acrobatic flair and a terrific sense of swing.”
Hi friends,
I’m excited to share that my album Aubrey Logan and Her Bigger Than Average Band has been entered for consideration in this year’s GRAMMY®️ Awards. I’d be honored if you’d keep it in mind for Best Jazz Vocal Album.
Also entered is “Airport Codes” (a song I wrote and arranged with Mike Sailors) for Best Jazz Performance and Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals.
This record was born out of my “student big band tour” — giving workshops at colleges, high schools, and even middle schools. To my surprise (and delight), Gen Z is genuinely into big band music. I’ve seen fifth graders grinning behind trombones twice their size, and college students swinging hard on charts they’d begged me to bring.
The only thing missing was an album I could hand them. So, with the help of an incredible band of world-class musicians led by Mike Sailors in Austin, TX, we made one. I couldn’t be more grateful to finally share these charts in recorded form.
Engineered by Charlie Kramsky, produced by Mike Sailors and me, and executive produced by MWO Records.
With gratitude,
Aubrey
“She’s a songbird; her voice is stunning, whether she’s singing about being lovely while flying on “Airport Codes,” or enthusiastically scatting like one of the greats.”
